About Sophie
After a degree in Fine Art at Leeds University, Sophie studied at London Fine Art Studios where she focused on figurative sculpture and portraiture in the atelier tradition. Working predominantly in oils, Sophie merges realism with abstraction to create her own personal interpretation of the sitter or the chance situation. Intrigued by the way her colour palette changes according to the light, Sophie loves to travel in order to explore the way different atmospheres are created in particular moments; South America is a current inspiration.
Form and Composition
Sophie's work is intuitive and inspired by life: she paints interesting people, sometimes solitary, sometimes with moving interactions. Figures and characters are created in response to her subject but are also expressions of her own feelings.
Sophie's Studio
Sophie's studio is in South London. She takes commissions, balancing these with work for her gallery and exhibitions.
Whilst working across a variety of mediums, Alliott predominantly focuses on large-scale oil paintings.
She is represented by Cricket Fine Art (Park Walk, Chelsea).
Her work can be found in private collections in the US, UK & Australia.
